“Missions matter. It is the very core of what it means to be Christian. As followers of Jesus Christ, we should always be in the process of becoming more and more like Christ. And, simply put, if we’re not engaged in missions, we’re not becoming more like Jesus. Every follower of Christ should be involved in missions.”

5 Key Principles for Missions at Heritage Church
-
Principle 1 - Commission is the vision
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20 NLT) -
Principle 2 - A good deed is the seed
How can you show me your faith if you don't have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds. Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works. (James 2:18,26 NLT) -
Principle 3 - Compassion is the action
Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. (Luke 10:33-34 NLT) -
Principle 4 - Salvation is the motivation
For the Lord gave us this command when he said, 'I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth. (Acts 13:47 NLT) -
Principle 5 - Multiplication is the application
I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building. (1 Corinthians 3:6-9 NLT)
